Microlot from two select producers of the Valle Inca cooperative
Balanced and clean coffee that will please all coffee lovers
Nestled in the Yanatile Valley in Cusco in the south of Peru, is the Valle Inca coffee producing group, run by Prudencio Vargas Saenz. The Valle Inca group is growing fast, currently at 101 members. Prudencio is valued in this community for his dedication and trustworthiness, and most of all, his drive to invest in the community and engage with their goals and concerns. With the increased quality, that producers get higher prices for their coffee than previously possible. He buys processed parchment from the growers and focuses on reinvesting the premium prices they obtain into the community's infrastructure to help them continue to improve quality year after year. He also brings years of experience as an agricultural loan officer, and as a result, was able to formalize the group and gain organic certification.
This coffee was grown in the community of Suyo, by two particular stand out producers, Zenon Rupa Hinojosa and Teofilo Bellota Aguilar. During the quality control process, their coffee was kept separate from the rest of the lot because it cupped at an outstanding score of 87+, and is being sold as a microlot that highlights the best the group and region has to offer.
