Traceable Ethiopian lot from Uraga
Refreshing mix of berries and citrus to liven your morning
This is our fifth coffee from the region of Uraga over the last two seasons. Uraga is a sub-region of the Guji area, that has begun making a name for itself separately in recent years. This coffee is grown at an elevation of 1950-2250 masl on land owned by small farmers under forest canopy. This means that the producers own their small plots of land under the forest canopy and they prune and manage the naturally growing trees. The farmers deliver their hand-picked cherry to the Raro Boda washing station named after their small town.
The varietals are identified Ethiopia heirlooms, Dega and Kurume. That combined with the ideal climate created by the three mountain forests in Uraga and the meticulous processing work performed at Raro Boda, make a coffee that is delicate while still being complex and harmonious. Drinking this washed coffee is like biting into a fresh picked blueberry in summer, with subtle notes of lime zest and floral fragrance. We recommend a 1:16 brew ratio, filtered water at 208-210℉, a medium grind, and a 3-3.5 minute brew cycle.
